"We shall individually be held responsible for doing one jot less than we have ability to do...But when we give ourselves wholly to God, and in our work follow His directions, He makes Himself responsible for its accomplishment. He would not have us conjecture as to the success of our honest endeavors. Not once should we even think of failure. We are to cooperate with One who knows no failure." ~Messages to Young People, p. 309

"An Apple a Day..."

Well, what do you know? Applefest time has come around again! For those of you who don't know, Applefest is a yearly celebration put on by the president of the university Dad works at for all the employees and their families. Naturally, it is grand fun and always keenly looked forward to. This year was no exception.

If the phrase, "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away" is true, I believe that our family won't need a doctor for quite some time! :D
At Applefest, you can just about eat anything apple related, except for plain apples! :P There's apple juice, apple fritters, cotton candy (and yes I know that's not apple-related! :P) and even some veggie hot dogs. (Not to mention the VERY yummy apple pie!!!!!)

You can get balloons, get your face painted, see some tricks, and hear some really good guitar music. This year there was even some blacksmiths there, that you could watch as they performed their craft! Alison's favorite part was where you could jump up really high in a harness....over and over again! Of course it's a lot of fun talking to different people as well.

ANYWAY, so here are some pictures I took this year, hope you enjoy them! :D

^^Alison expectantly waiting to help make apple juice. There was a real apple juice machine there, where the people manning it would put apples into a container, which would chop it up, and then a person would push on the apple chunks and make the juice, which was put in containers for people to drink. :) See next few pictures.

^^Many pictures in this post are of the little displays set up.

^^Cotton candy.

^^Need I explain?? :P

^I just LOVED this composition of these balloons...

^^The quilts were neat...
^^...and so were the leaves!
^^"The End!" from the little Indian in the family! :D
