"We shall individually be held responsible for doing one jot less than we have ability to do...But when we give ourselves wholly to God, and in our work follow His directions, He makes Himself responsible for its accomplishment. He would not have us conjecture as to the success of our honest endeavors. Not once should we even think of failure. We are to cooperate with One who knows no failure." ~Messages to Young People, p. 309

Three Days, Part 2

Ready for some more biblical "three days"? Here we go!

  • After Samson delivered his challenging riddle, people were so puzzle that they could not solve it for three days. Pick up Judges 14 to unravel that mystery!
  •  Saul and a servant were searching for lost donkeys for three days, until Samuel revealed that the animals had been found. Find that in 1 Samuel 9!
  • When God gave good King Jehoshaphat and all of Israel a marvelous victory over their enemies, there was so much plunder that it took the Israelites three days to haul it all away! See 2 Chronicles 20 for the rest of the story on that.
  • When Ezra was organizing a group of Israelites to return to Jerusalem, they waited three days before starting their journey. See for yourself in Ezra 8.
  • And when they safely arrived in Jerusalem, they rested for three days. Again, read Ezra 8 if you want to know more.
  • When Nehemiah secretly arrived in Jerusalem, he waited three days until he made himself known. See Nehemiah 2 for the fully story.
  • Before going in to see Xerxes, Queen Esther and the Israelites prayed and fasted for three days. Read Esther 4 for the rest of the story.
  • And of course, Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days. Eeeew! See Jonah 3 for the full story with the fish!
And you'll have to wait one more week to finish out my series on "three days" in the Bible! See ya then!
