"We shall individually be held responsible for doing one jot less than we have ability to do...But when we give ourselves wholly to God, and in our work follow His directions, He makes Himself responsible for its accomplishment. He would not have us conjecture as to the success of our honest endeavors. Not once should we even think of failure. We are to cooperate with One who knows no failure." ~Messages to Young People, p. 309

Three Days, Part 3

OK! Final segment here. I don't know about you, but I've sure been enjoying learning about the Bible's references to three days!

  • Jesus predicted that he would be in the earth for three days, in Matthew 12.
  • A crowd of (at least!!) 12,000 listened to Jesus' teachings for three days before Jesus performed a miracle and fed them all. That must have been super-food! See Matthew 15 for the whole scoop.
  • Mary and Joseph lost Jesus for three days once. Search and find the rest of the story in Luke 2!
  • After Paul had his road-to-Damascus vision from God, he was blind for three days.
  • The Roman centurion Cornelius waited three days for Peter to come and preach to him.
  • When Paul visited the island of Malta, Publius (the chief official on the island) let Paul stay at his estate for three days.

Well, there you go! Twenty-two references to "three days" in the Bible. That's actually a lot more than I thought! And to be totally honest, that wasn't all the references. Biblegateway.com lists "three days" in the Bible sixty-five times!!

Do you have a "three days" mention in the Bible that I left out?? How about you drop me a comment here and tell me about it!
